Happy Birthday Emraan Hashmi

It calls for a gaiety celebration for actor Emraan Hashmi who turns 36 today. The dashing hunk of Bollywood is the heartthrob of many, and we are sure that each one of his fans is digging the internet for news around his birthday.

With a stream of successful movies and a set of action-packed performances, Hashmi is one of those few actors who has proved his worth with time and has emerged as a go-to actor for challenging roles. We know him for many remarkable roles, but the one as Nikhil Abhyankar in the recently released ‘Ungli’ was commendable. His role is that of a cop who thinks like a criminal, and this is where lies the catch! He joins the Ungli gang, a group of four friends, to expose corrupt officials in their run to cleanse the system.

Beyond doubt, the audience could relate to his acting, and hence, appreciated his performance a lot.

Happy Birthday Alia Bhatt

It is time to blow the birthday candles as the darling Alia Bhatt celebrates her birthday today. The bubbly, cute and versatile actress has become a fan favorite with her spirited performances.

In her very first film, SOTY, which turned out to be a blockbuster, she showed promise of becoming a star. In her next Dharma film, “2 States” she established herself as an actor of great dramatic caliber. In her third film, “Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhaniya” she showed a comic side which wowed audiences everywhere.

But, before all the stardom came the hard work and perseverance. It is this “zest” as Karan Johar likes to put it, that saw her bagging the lead role for SOTY. Manish Malhotra who was the costume designer for the movie also hails Alia for being stylish and found it great to dress her up. So much so, that in his own words they “just went on and on with the clothes…”.

With the hits piling up one by one, we can only hope that she keeps entertaining us for a long time. But, till we see her again on the silver screen, here’s a collection of songs from Alia’s movies -  and a video of the adorable fashionista for the fans to enjoy.

Happy Birthday Shraddha Kapoor

The smiling beauty of Bollywood celebrates her 26th birthday today.

Young, cool and petite, Shraddha charmed millions of hearts as Basanti in Ungli.
Glamorous and glitzy, Shraddha in her never seen before avatar, sparkled with her moves and her body language. Every time you watch the song, she ups the oomph looking extremely 'bisphotak'! Brownie points for her killer attitude and her spunky thumkas.

We also remember her role as Vasudha in the rom-com ‘Gori Tere Pyaar Mein’, where contrary to her glam avatar now, her role was of a extremely simple and naive girl. Nevertheless, we love her in all her roles!

Dharma Productions wishes her a birthday blast and lots of luck for her upcoming movies.

Happy Birthday Abhishek Bachchan !

The dashing star of Bollywood celebrates his 39th birthday with his family. For him, birthdays are no reason to not work. He loves celebrating his birthdays by ‘working’ and following his daily schedule of acting and film-making. Yes, you heard it right!

Junior Bachchan is best known as an actor, but very few of his fans know that he was a co-producer and a playback singer.

The actor, who prefers living a very low profile life, has worked in the choicest of films and all his roles have been well received by the audience. His role as ‘Rishi’ in ‘Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna’ was much applauded and won him a Filmfare award. However, his character ‘Sameer’ in Dostana has been an all-time favorite which won him the envious IIFA under the Best Comedian category.

With 48 awards won and a stunning 97 nominations, it is quite clear why this tall handsome is the heart-throb of many. On his special day, Dharma Productions wishes him a delightful birthday.

Happy Birthday Imran Khan

The puppy-eyed actor of Bollywood turns 32 today! Known for his eclectic choice of coming-of-age roles, Imran has emerged as one of the self-made actors in Bollywood. Imran is one of those few actors who started his acting career at a very young age.

Since 2008, Imran has worked in 15 films with interesting on-screen appearances and his character as Jay Dhingra in ‘I Hate Luv Storys’ was much appreciated where he was seen as the casanova who detests the idea of love and yet can’t stop himself from falling in love with his co-star in the movie, Simran (Sonam Kapoor).

Once again in ‘Ek Main Aur Ek Tu’ and ‘Gori tere Pyaar Mein’, Imran is seen in challenging roles as Rahul kapoor and Sriram Venkat with a flair that only he could have. This actor with the lover-boy image is known to play the charming ladies’ man in romantic movies and in time, has proved that he deserves being listed as the top actors of his age.

Nominated several times for Screen and Stardust awards, Imran believes in modesty and hardwork and has worked his way through to the fame charts. Here’s from the Dharma team – a very happy birthday to Imran Khan! We wish abundance of success and health to the “I hate chalta hai attitude” star.

Happy Birthday Supriya Pathak

Supriya Pathak was born on 7th January, 1961 to Dina Pathak, who herself was a well-known award winning actress. She was a part of the early new wave in Indian cinema movement.

Supriya began her career in the early 80’s and has recently worked in television sitcoms and has become a household name. The talented actress donned the role of Ranbir Kapoor’s mother in the film ‘Wake Up Sid’. She played the role of a very supporting and loving mother, who always looked out for her son’s happiness more than her own. In the movie she comes across as a very timid, gentle and loving mother; a few characteristics that every mother always has.

We hope that her warm, homely personality never fades away as that’s the thing she is known widely for. Here’s wishing this stellar actress a very Happy Birthday and we hope she achieves all her endeavours in life.

Happy Birthday Deepika !

The reigning queen of Bollywood, Deepika Padukone, celebrates her 29th birthday today. She isn’t merely tasting success, but quite literally basking in its glory... and rightly so! Deepika has come a long way since the days of Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, but to us she will always be that geeky, shy, introverted, person who transformed into a dazzling diva.

Miss. Padukone romanced Ranbir Kapoor in Ayan Mukerji's 'Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani' and the film was a stupendous success. Their onscreen chemistry had fans intrigued and wanting more. In an interview, Deepika said, “I completely identify with the character of Naina Talwar. People who don’t know me feel that I have acted in Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. For me, I was just being myself. That’s the way I am. That’s the journey that I have actually gone through. From the shy, introverted, under-confident person to coming into her own... I have gone through that journey myself. Apart from the fact that Naina Talwar was a very studious girl and I was never studious, in every other way I was completely like her. So, while it felt like I was living that part, I was just being myself.”

The team at Dharma productions would love to take this opportunity to wish Deepika a very happy birthday and a lifetime of success ahead! May this year be a one where we witness a lot more amazing work from such a talented actress. Our hearts are with you, do us proud!

Happy Birthday Shah Rukh Khan

Shah Rukh Khan, one of the most popular and celebrated stars in Bollywood, turned 49 on November 2nd. A large number of his ardent fans turned up outside Mannat (his residence) to wish King Khan. The acclaimed actor made sure he did not let his fans down; he greeted and thanked them for their wishes.

We at Dharma productions had a very interesting and innovative activity on Facebook and Twitter called #SRKTaughtUs. We shared
various inspirational and comic dialogues from all his films throughout his acting career. These activities also gained a lot of publicity via various press releases in the The Hindu and The Indian Express. Dharma presents ‘best moment with Shah Rukh Khan’ spoke about some of the memorable moments we had with SRK. Inspirational dialogues like “Zindagi mein kuch banna ho, Kuch hasil karna ho, Kuch jeetna ho, to hamesha apne dil ki suno, Aur agar dil se bhi koi jawaab na aaye To apni ankhein band karke apne Maa aur Baba ka naam lo.” This dialogue from the film ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham’ is what most of us SRK fans have grown up on listening to it time and time again, and the confidence it has instilled in us.

As a special treat on his brthday, we have created a special playlist with all his famous dialogues and scenes from his films. Go back in time and reminisce about the old memories of how it meant to fall in love with your true love.

Do you remember the young, vibrant and naughty Rahul Khanna (SRK) from the film ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’? It was so charming to watch him as he worked his magic on all the girls at college and how he portrayed himself as the Ladies Man! In the film ‘My Name Is Khan’, we see SRK play the role of an autistic person who is branded as terrorist only because of his name. One can actually notice the versatility that this great actor possesses. From doing a role of a crazy happy-go-lucky college boy to that of an autistic person is simply amazing and will keep you wondering, what does this actor have that others don’t.

Join us in celebrating another great year of King Khan and tell us your favourite SRK moments in the comments below.

Happy Birthday Rishi Kapoor!

The proverb “old is gold” holds true with actor, film producer and director Rishi Kapoor. Just like fine wine, he has matured over time into an amazing actor and we are proud to have him as a part of our Dharma family. Today we joyously celebrate the birthday of one of the most versatile actors of our time; Rishi Kapoor here’s wishing you a very Happy Birthday!
His power packed performance in Agneepath as Rauf Lala, an underworld drug lord, left fans with chills down their spine! He seamlessly pulled of the absolute unabashed, unapologetic, evil portrayal of Rauf Lala. The brilliant part is that even when he was trading off young girls you still see him as a flawed human being instead of a monster and that is a feat only Rishi Kapoor can pull off.
In contrast to Agneepath, Rishi Kapoor displayed remarkable flexibility when he played the role of Dean Yogendra Vashisht, in Student Of The Year. It was for the first time ever that a mainstream actor enacted such a diverse role and with Rishi Kapoor playing the role of a flamboyant man, he certainly gave us a power-packed performance.
We are extremely proud to have worked with such a legend and hope to see him starring in many future Dharma Productions. Here’s to you ‘Chintuji’, may you have many successful years ahead. Do join in the celebration and share your favorite Rishi Kapoor scene from Dharma movies in the comments below.

Happy Birthday Saif Ali Khan!

There’s an old saying – “The older the wine, the better it is”. Somewhat similar, is the ever youthful. Saif Ali Khan, who we lovingly call ‘Rohit Patel’ from ‘Kal Ho Naa Ho’! Saif is undoubtedly one of the hottest men in town with a rather striking attitude; and that is what makes him special!
We love how Saif gives Rohit a personal touch- the sweet boy next door, the friend for life, the fun chilled person; his humor, his style and his charm are enough to sweep all the ladies off their feet. This is just the beginning.
Rohit was Naina’s best friend, the guy with a good heart. He slowly becomes the man who loves her, and the husband who stays by her side as her best friend till the end of their time. Saif adds a lot of charm and style to the character - Rohit. We’re sure, when you reminisce about Kal Ho Naa Ho you’ll have many memories of Rohit to enjoy!
As he turns a year older and wiser, here’s wishing more love, success, movie magic and power to Saif Ali Khan! Celebrate with us by sharing your favorite Saif Ali Khan scene from Dharma movies in the comments section below.

Happy birthday Saif Ali Khan! :)

Happy Birthday Ayan Mukerji!

Every movie has been a celebration for Dharma Productions, every director special. Today we're celebrating the life of one such special director. Happy birthday Ayan Mukerji! The two films which he has directed, both for Dharma Movies- Wake Up Sid! and Yeh Jawaani Hain Deewani are extremely special to us.
Wake Up Sid! is a celebration of growing up and self-discovery. Sid's character is based on the youth of today and a little on Ayan as well. Being a rebel, going all out and living life to the fullest, making friends, discovering love all while we go through this incredible journey - life. Ayan has beautifully moulded these thoughts into a cult film.
Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani goes deeper. Ayan, expresses his love for life through the film. Ayan's films are known to touch emotional chords. Through Bunny's dreams and determination, Naina's love and selflessness and Aditi and Avi's friendship, Ayan gives the world a glimpse of the small, simple joys of life.
We're glad to have Ayan Mukerji as a Director at Dharma.
We’re waiting with baited breath for his next with Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt!

Happy Birthday Kajol!

She’s one of the finest actors of our generation; and we’re lucky to have her. We love you Kajol for giving your heart and soul to some of the most memorable Dharma characters! From being our ‘Jhalli Anjali’, who would conveniently beat Rahul at a game of basketball to being the gorgeous ‘bride-to-be’ and dancing in chiffon sarees in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, she can pull off any character! In Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, Anjali was all about love, passion and full of energy. As a daughter, as a wife, as a mother, she loved the way nobody could. We wouldn’t blame Rahul for falling head over heels in love with her!!!
Then there was her other avatar, as Mandira Khan in My Name Is Khan. Kajol personified the strength and intensity of a mother’s love with which she essayed the character of Mandira. Taking her strong persona to another level was her character Maya who was suffering from cancer in We Are Family. There’s no doubt in saying that there’s none like her. She’s honest, she’s confident and she’s the powerhouse of warmth, love and energy that she brings along. And of course, we all know, ‘Ye badi mazzakiya hai!’
Here’s wishing her a very happy birthday! Cheers to the love we share for movies and more :)

More power to you, Kajol!
