Happy Birthday Abhishek Bachchan !

The dashing star of Bollywood celebrates his 39th birthday with his family. For him, birthdays are no reason to not work. He loves celebrating his birthdays by ‘working’ and following his daily schedule of acting and film-making. Yes, you heard it right!

Junior Bachchan is best known as an actor, but very few of his fans know that he was a co-producer and a playback singer.

The actor, who prefers living a very low profile life, has worked in the choicest of films and all his roles have been well received by the audience. His role as ‘Rishi’ in ‘Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna’ was much applauded and won him a Filmfare award. However, his character ‘Sameer’ in Dostana has been an all-time favorite which won him the envious IIFA under the Best Comedian category.

With 48 awards won and a stunning 97 nominations, it is quite clear why this tall handsome is the heart-throb of many. On his special day, Dharma Productions wishes him a delightful birthday.

Celebrating 6 years of Dostana

Friendships are among the most complex but meaningful relationships in our lives. These unique bonds often run deeper than family ties, and sometimes last longer than our relationships with spouses or lovers. A great example of complex yet meaningful friendship can be seen in ‘Dostana’.

In ‘Dostana’, we see a very “close” friendship between Sameer Kapoor (Abhishek Bachchan) and Kunal Chopra. They first meet each other while looking to rent an apartment in Miami. The owner refuses to sublet it to them because her niece, Neha Melwani (Priyanka Chopra), stays in the same apartment and she does not want men living there with her. So to win over the owners trust, the boys pretend to be a couple in a long-term relationship. Their comrade from there blossoms and they also become good friends with Neha.

The movie has some very intense scenes, which will make you want to spill your guts out laughing. Kunal and Sameer pull off quite a few quirky scenes but at no point is their masculinity compromised by their intense relationship.

Kunal and Sameer find themselves falling for Neha but decide to play a fair game for her love. However, the mischievous Kunal tricks Sameer into spending the night with Neha's aunt and her friends while he takes Neha out on a date. Many of us can relate to the friendship shared between Sameer and Kunal and all their funny antics. Don’t we all have that one friend who we do crazy things with? Like the scene where Kunal and Sameer kiss on stage? Well maybe not that crazy, but we all had our fair share of similar experiences. It’s funny what people do in the name of friendship but that’s what makes a friendship even more special!

A twisted story of love & relationships

If you ever thought that you already have that perfect love story that you`ve always dreamed of, think again. Everything in this world is not what it seems to be. Love is not always hunky dory all the time, there are certain times in life when a marriage can have its flaws, but it’s up to you and your partner to sort everything out. Something on a similar basis can be seen in the film ‘Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna’ which is a twisted story of love & relationships.

Dev (Shah Rukh Khan) lives in the United States of America and is a foot ball player. He is married to Rhea (Preity Zinta), who works and models for a fashion magazine. Dev fractures his leg, becomes handicapped and dependent on Rhea. He stays at home all the time and broods on his ill-luck. This causes a lot of heated arguments between the two and Rhea accuses Dev of being jealous of her success and what a bad example he is setting for their son. Rishi on the other hand is very frustrated as he is unable to express his love towards Maya and also resents the fact that Maya is infertile. Due to this Maya is unable to reciprocate his love because of the lack of feelings towards him, as she believes he is very selfish. This causes a drift in their relationship.

The film focuses on how the two couples have an imperfect relationship, and how they try to avoid the issues by having an extra-marital affair. They believe that taking this step will sort out all their problems. However, this distraction just turns out to be a temporary solution, which makes it even worse as it results in raising doubts in their partners’ minds. They say that no relationship is perfect.

A marriage always has its ups and downs, and true love doesn’t always come your way the way you imagined. It is something that becomes stronger when a couple has a give and take relationship, when they understand each other’s difficulties and work towards a common solution and when they have absolute faith in each other’s lives whether it is at home or outside at work.

Dancing, partying and enjoying life to the fullest is what we all love doing with friends. But what is also important in any friendship is trust, support and always being around for each other.
Friends are the pillars of life and their presence helps us to make the toughest decisions easier! Such friendships transform our lives to such an extent that they teach us to value people. Most of us have accepted that our friends are the family we choose for ourselves.
The same feeling of friendship is what Sameer, Kunal & Neha experienced in one another’s company. The three best friends have always been with each other through thick and thin. Their friendship reflects that everything is alright when friends are by your side!

There are times when we think / pretend we are happy when we are not. However, we find it difficult to accept the truth and plan to live with it, not realising that it’s not only bothering us, but also the people around us. Though difficult, it is wise to accept things as they come and find a way to live with it rather than running away from it. Dev and Maya too were the victims of misconceptions & misunderstandings. They believed that their incapability made them weaker in front of their better halves Rhea & Rishi respectively.

It was fate, who bought Dev and Maya together, but it might have been faith that could have let Dev & Rhea and Maya & Rishi live happily ever after.
