The ride continues!

The cast and crew are having a great time shooting for 'Student of the Year' and the dynamic locations are just adding to the excitement. Looks like the crew is planning to travel all over the world considering the locations they are travelling now.  As Mr. Karan Johar said, "Today is the first day of a hectic long schedule!!! From the freezing slopes of Kashmir to the thailand heat....SOTY covering every climate!" well with the change in locations, covering all climate it is.

While doing a shooting for 'Student of the Year' Karan cannot stop himself from praising Rishi Kapoor after his excellent performance in previous Dharma movie 'Agneepath' as Rauf Lala Karan praises the talent by saying "Such an honour to work with Rishi Kapoor...his versatility is unreal..Rauf lala to his portrayal of Dean Yoginder Vasisht in SOTY..genius!" well, we totally agree with you Karan, now don't we?

In the middle of the shoot Karan and Manish managed to capture this 'white moment'. Both the gentlemen are wearing white shirt and this is what Karan had to say about the picture "Manish and me...looks like we are posing for a detergent!!!!" funny as always :D

Stay tuned for more such amusing updates from Dharma Productions

Dharma Women

Women play endless role and are an important part of our lives. Everything is incomplete without them, even the Indian film industry. This can be seen in various Dharma Movies, where women have been marked as a pillar without whom the movie would not make any sense, not only this, Karan has successfully portrayed various shades of women through the different characters in Dharma Movies

Starting from 'Gumrah' released in 1993, a story about Roshni who fights against the injustice done to her with courage and strength. In Kurbaan, another character Avantika portrayed the characteristics like courage, loyalty and Independent when she is betrayed by her own husband and fights against terrorism. Other special mentions include Mandira Khan - wife of Rizwan Khan, who pushes her husband away just to receive justice for her son. Similarly, there is Nanadini Raichand, Anjali from K3G. Tina and so on.

Dharma dedicated a whole day to it's Dharma Women. Click here > https://pinterest.com/dharmamovies/happy-women-s-day/ to pick your favorite Character!

"SOTY is my last stint at young film" - Karan Johar

Karan Johar has been real busy with the shooting of his upcoming movie Student of the Year. Recently he tweeted about his shooting schedule in Delhi “Am shooting the last day of the schedule in delhi....” as the shooting comes to an end in Delhi, Karan revealed some exciting news about the movie.

Firstly, Karan seems immensely impressed with the three kids in the movie and has announced about releasing their exclusive images on Twitter, a social media platform soon. As Karan said, “the 3 kids in SOTY are lovely!!! Sid has a silent strong charm....Varun has a real fun bratty appeal...Alia is vivacious and super cute!!!” After all this, it will surely be a treat to see their images! But it doesn’t end here, if you have been wondering when the movie will release, here is your answer, “For everyone asking SOTY is short for STUDENT OF THE YEAR...the film i am directing currently and will release in the fall of 2012!!!” straight from Karan Johar.

While shooting for Student of the Year Karan also felt nostalgic by remembering his first directorial movie Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, “At heart i think i was born old....even at 25 i felt more easy directing the second half of K2H2” it s clearly visible that dhooting the youth life makes him feel older and the same in Student of the Year. While shooting amongst the youngsters Karan is feeling older than he is suppose to, the same is visible when you read his tweet. In addition, he also mentioned that since he will be turning 40 this year, working with the youth makes him feel all the more old and this might be his last youth film, “Am going to be 40 in may!!! And filming with these 20+ actors has made me realise this is definitely my last stint at a "young" film!!!” this surely must be depressing for all Karan Johar fans. However, Karan believes in doing what is best for his movies and this way, he would give chance to more new talents who understand the current generation better.

With all this, it will be exciting to watch how Student of the Year will turn out to be, releasing this fall.

Dharma Director’s Journal

When watching the movie, do you look at the technicalities used in making that film? Do you think that director is the soul behind making the movie? If your answer is yes, then this one is for you!

Just like you, many people say that directors play an important role in the film in many ways; he is the Backbone of the film, Caption of the ship, Hero, Co-ordinator and so on. When talk about Dharma history, we have launched a total of 9 directors under our banner – Nikhil Advani, Soham Shah, Tarun Mansukhani, Rensil D’Silva, Siddharth Malhotra, Ayan Mukherji, Punit Malhotra, recently launched Karan Malhotra and Shakun Batra which no other productions house has done.

At the same time, Karan is extremely proud of his talents saying, “At Dharma, we have already introduced nine directors. We are extremely proud of their films.”But it doesn’t end here, Karan plans to continue this practice by launching new talents in his upcoming Dharma Movies – “Taking the train of thought further, we plan to expand our production base and launch many more first time filmmakers in the immediate future."

One of them whom we know of is Akshay Roy who is directing Ekta and Karan’s upcoming production film. And more are on their way! We will reveal them soon J

SOTY in KASHMIR!

Last time we updated you about Kayoze Irani, son of Boman Irani making his acting debut with Student of the Year. This time we have another update to share with you.

Student of the Year shooting is going on without any breaks and right now they are shooting in the Paradise on Earth which is Kashmir, not only this, they have gone there to shoot for a Love Song of the film choreographed by Farah Khan! Karan Johar, shares his experience by tweeting “In the most beautiful place on earth.....Kashmir.....the joy of shooting a lip sync love song!!!” seems the cast and crew are enjoying the beautiful place. Always in buzz due to its gorgeous locations, Kashmir is undoubtedly one of the best locations to shoot for a Love Song.

However, at this time along with enjoying the scenic beauty Karan Johar is also loving the chill of this beautiful place saying, “I feel i have worn everything in my suitcase!!!” as you can see in the image below, Karan can’t stop talking about it. He also shares the condition of the very talented Farah Khan on the sets, quoting her as “The fasionista on set.....introducing FARAH KHAN...” We don’t know about the crew, but Karan is surely having a great time experiencing snow and mocking his crew members condition in the winter! Well, that’s what makes Karan a person with a good of humour now doesn’t it?

Stay Tuned with us and we will inform you what’s the latest update with Dharma Productions and much more.

UTV Motion Pictures and Dharma Productions Pvt. Ltd.’s Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu (U/A) is an unusual tale of a boy and a girl, who meet by chance, get married when they are under the influence of alcohol and then set out to annul the marriage.

So far, so good. But now, between a marriage made by a minister in an Elvis costume and the court date for the annulment, Riana finds herself homeless and penniless and turns to the only person she appears to know in Vegas for help – her ‘husband’. He gives her shelter till it’s time for her to leave for a New Year’s break in India. In those ensuing five days Rahul discovers that he can loosen up, does have a wild side and has fallen in love with Riana.

Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu songs have really created impact on the audience, which has become one of the biggest reasons to make audience buy the tickets and watch the movie in theatre. The combination of composer Amit Trivedi and lyricist Amitabh Bhattacharya have just created magic for movie Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu.

#MemorableDialogues

"Dosti ke alava bhi kuch rishte hote hai...

Kuch rishte jo hum samajhte nahin, kuch rishte jo hum samajhna nahin chahte,

Kuch rishte jinka koi naam nahin hota, sirf ehsaas hota hai...

Kuch rishte jinki koi diwaar nahin hoti, sarad nahin hoti...

Aise rishte jo pyaar ke rishte hote hai, mohabbat ke rishte..."
