Now the competition is all set to begin as all our contenders have arrived. Varun Dhawan, son of David Dhawan, made a journey from Manchester to Mumbai to be a part of Student of the Year! He gave up management to become an actor and the reviews for him just like our previous two contenders have been mind blowing :)

Release date of Student of the Year!

The news has been broken!

Recently, Mr. Karan Johar made an official announcement on a social media site about the release date of his upcoming directorial movie Student Of The Year. The movie is all set to go on the floor on 19th October, 2012. "STUDENT OF THE YEAR will release on the 19th of OCTOBER 2012...it launches 3 newcomers...Sidharth Malhotra....Varun Dhawan and Alia bhatt!!"  

After the long wait and the repeated questions the answer is finally out. Out of the blue, this news has been a pleasant surprise for our fans. This is going to be Karan's next directorial movie directly after My Name Is Khan in 2010. The great success of his last movie has raised expectations from this one. 

Student of the Year is a story of three college students, this youthful movie will remind you of the epic movie Kuch Kuch Hota Hai! Something you don't wanna miss :D

The ride continues!

The cast and crew are having a great time shooting for 'Student of the Year' and the dynamic locations are just adding to the excitement. Looks like the crew is planning to travel all over the world considering the locations they are travelling now.  As Mr. Karan Johar said, "Today is the first day of a hectic long schedule!!! From the freezing slopes of Kashmir to the thailand heat....SOTY covering every climate!" well with the change in locations, covering all climate it is.

While doing a shooting for 'Student of the Year' Karan cannot stop himself from praising Rishi Kapoor after his excellent performance in previous Dharma movie 'Agneepath' as Rauf Lala Karan praises the talent by saying "Such an honour to work with Rishi Kapoor...his versatility is unreal..Rauf lala to his portrayal of Dean Yoginder Vasisht in SOTY..genius!" well, we totally agree with you Karan, now don't we?

In the middle of the shoot Karan and Manish managed to capture this 'white moment'. Both the gentlemen are wearing white shirt and this is what Karan had to say about the picture "Manish and me...looks like we are posing for a detergent!!!!" funny as always :D

Student of the Year is on the roll!

Dharma Production’s one of the most awaited movie Student of the Year has been real busy with its shooting schedule. Recently according to Karan Johar’s tweet, “Am off for another outdoor of SOTY....am filming my favourite song in the album with farah!!! On flight with the newbies..will connect soon!”  Tells us about the latest shooting of SOTY song choreographed by none other than Farah Khan!

After the success of Agneepath which turned out to be the biggest blockbuster of the year, came Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu which was a hit. Hence, overall it was a great start for Dharma Productions. Also, unlike any other year for the first time Dharma is releasing more than one movie in a year. With two movies already down the road the next in line is Student of the Year.

Directed by Karan Johar, this is after 2 years when Karan has gone behind the cameras after directing the block buster My Name Is Khan, how can we forget the news about Dharma launching new faces in this movie which has never happened before, starring David Dhawan’s son Varun Dhawan, Siddharth Malhotra and Alia Bhatt. After all this surprises, Karan Johar has yet again hit us with another one, he recently official announced about the new entry in SOTY and he is Kayoze Irani, son of the super talented Boman Irani!

“Ok...that's kayoze irani!!! @kayoze..boman irani's super talented son who we are introducing in SOTY” (image given below). For those who think this is the first time Kayoze will be associate with Dharma Productions then you are wrong. Hardly anyone knows that Kayoze Irani was assisting Shakun Batra for Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu. This is first time, he will be testing his acting skills and however, being the son of Boman Irani we can already imagine how it would we, now can’t we? 

Karan Johar on the sets of Student Of The Year

The shoot for ‘Student Of The Year’ is going strong and Karan Johar recently tweeted on a micro-blogging site saying, “Back on sets of "student of the year"!!! Shooting in a classroom!!! I am feeling like a retired professor”‘Student OF The Year’ is a youth centric film & after a long time Karan is working on this kind of genre. After trying his hands at serious films like ‘My Name Is Khan’ and ‘Kabhie Alvida Na Kehna’, ‘Kabhie Khushi Kabhie Gham’, etc he is bringing back the era of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai.

Apart from Karan Johar directing this movie there’s another factor in this movie to look forward to. The very talented director David Dhawan’s son Varun Dhawan is making his debut with this film. Furthermore, the other two leading actors are also fresher - Alia Bhatt and Siddharth Malhotra. First time ever when Karan Johar is working with a new star cast.

The movie is coming out next year and the release date is not final yet.

Divid Dhawan’s proud moments with son Varun

After Papa Mahesh Bhatt giving his views about his daughter Alia Bhatt’s big release with Dharma productions, big daddy David Dhawan too had some proud moments to share after watching his son Varun Dhawan. Varun gave his first shot for the movie ‘Student of the Year’, starting with a big song with Alia Bhatt and Siddharth Malhotra.

Just like Mahesh Bhatt even David Dhawan feels proud of his son, who got a chance to launch himself with a huge banner like ‘Dharma Productions’. He wants his son to learn on his own and prefers not to interfere in his matters. He prefers to let him deal them by his own which will let him grow in the industry.

Looks like the trend in Bollywood is changing, with power house parents letting their star children learn and succeed from scratch. Welcome to Bollywood Alia, Varun and Siddharth!! :)

Mahesh Bhatt will Buy Tickets and watch his Daughter’s Movie

One of the most talked about movies which will release in 2012, ‘Student Of The Year’. The movie stars 3 new comers; Alia, Varun and Siddharth who feature in this movie as debutants!! Varun and Alia are children of David Dhawan and Mahesh Bhatt respectively and Siddharth a newbie to the industry.
Mahesh Bhatt’s daughter who is being launched in the movie ‘Student of the Year’ is looking forward to an explicit debut of his princess.
Mahesh Bhatt who is a film maker himself has worked with Dharma Productions in the past. He had directed the movie ‘Gumrah’ (1993)
 The filmmaker with a bagful of hits in the industry believes in paying for the movie ticket and watching his daughter hit the screen with a pride on his face. He even believes that his daughter must be on her own and learn things the hard way with making the choices of the right and wrong. He also appreciates that his daughter has received her ‘dream launch’ by working and being launched by none other than good friend – Karan Johar.
About the movie: Student of the Year’ seems to be walking on the same road and it looks like another epic movie is in the making!! In the year 1998, Karan Johar’s directorial debut ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ with Shahrukh Khan, Kajol and Rani Mukherji.
