9 Reasons Why Every Guy Needs A Girl Best Friend

Friendship between a guy and a girl is not frowned upon anymore and in fact they can be the best friends possible. Surprised? Don’t be, because we will give you 9 reasons you’ll totally agree with.

1. She understands girls

Any guy, who has a girl best friend, will swear by this fact. A girl best friend knows the tricks that girls use. Having a girl best friend means you know the inner details which help you go ahead in the race to get the one you like. Vice versa she can also advise you against choosing the spoilt apple.

2. She is mentally stable

Guys often have a habit of going off the handle. This is where a girl best friend with her calm demeanor comes into the picture and saves the day. Don’t believe us? Ask Sid, whose best friend Laxmi was always there when he needed the most.

3. Guys need that maternal affection
Guys crave for affection, and in testing times, a girl best friend is just the person a guy needs by his side, someone to soothe his nerves, like Neha did for both Kunal and Sameer in Dostana.

4. It is good to have a different opinion

Girls have a thought process that is different from most guys. When you are out of thoughts on certain issues, a girl best friend can instantly sweep in to provide a different perspective that might turn things around.

5. She is a great shopping partner

Whether it’s your Valentine’s Day gift or your own wardrobe needs a makeover, a girl best friend is the best company that a guy can have. She understands what’s best for you and unlike other girls has a genuine concern for your wallet.

6. You are never alone in a party

Come party time, you always need a partner you can rely upon. For those having a girl best friend means that you never have to worry about such a scenario.

7. Your parents trust her

If there’s anything that parents fear most, is their son going on the wrong path. With a girl best friend, they can be rest assured that he is in good company. The same way, Sameer’s mom trusted Neha to be with the former.

8. You can tease her all you want

Out of all the points mentioned, guys having a girl best friend will agree to this fact with much fervor. Teasing her just gets the guy the mood upswing that he needs. And all this, because she’s a better sport than any guy friend can ever be. Rahul in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai can vouch for that.

9. Arguments only strengthen their bond
Rahul and Anjali in KKHH argued over every little thing, but it just made their bond stronger. That kind of trust can only be there with a girl best friend because you know; the relationship will still be the same no matter what.

#RomanticDialogues with Dharma

Dharma has been synonymous with the feeling of love for decades now. Movies like ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ and ‘Kal Ho Naa Ho’ have become cult classics of the romantic genre. A large part of that success can be attributed to the mesmerizing dialogues that have been etched in the minds of the people.

It’s the characters that have made the dialogues memorable and when it comes to romance, how can one forget Rahul (Shah Rukh Khan). Rahul’s earnestness when he says “Kuch kuch hota hai Anjali, tum nahi samjhogi” Brought tears to the eyes of the young and the old. In ‘Kal Ho Na Ho’ Rohit’s (Saif Ali Khan) heartfelt way of describing love “Pyar ka pehla kadam dosti hai, aur aakhri bhi… bas beech ke kadam reh gaye hain” is also not far off.

While the superstars SRK, Saif, Rani and Preity have had their fair share of glory. The budding stars of B-Town are not far behind. While playing Meeta, Parineeti Chopra’s dialogue “Tum oxygen aur main hydrogen… hamari chemistry ekdum pani ki tarah hai” in ‘Hasee to Phasee’ brought a smile to the faces and changed the outlook towards the term chemistry forever.

From the outright passionate to the twisted funny, romantic dialogues of Dharma movies continue to make people fall in love. While the actors have beautifully enacted these dialogues on screen, the wonderful teams of writers have weaved their magic in the form of words time and again and deserve the highest of credit.

So, join in the fun as we bring the curtains down on the month of love and let us know your favourite romantic dialogues in the comment section below.

16 years of Kuch Kuch Hota Hai!

16 years ago, Karan Johar first burst onto the Bollywood scene as a director with 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai'. The film, that starred Kajol, Rani Mukerji and Shah Rukh Khan was a spectacular box office hit and paved the way for him to direct more movies like 'Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna', ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhi Gham' and 'Student Of The Year'. Karan Johar was 25 when he made his directorial debut.

'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' makes Bollywood look cool again. The Riverdale School look, complete with the hip clothes and sets, makes even the staunchest of snobs sit up and take notice of the film. After all here is a film where even the extras look as hot as the heroines.

Shah Rukh Khan as Rahul is the undisputed star and crowd-puller of the movie, also Salman Khan’s cameo takes the film to a whole different level. Kuch Kuch Hota Hai is one of those films, where Salman Khan displays his acting chops and gives a showcase of what he is
truly is capable of.

The chartbusting soundtrack for 'Kuch Kuch Hota Hai' remains one of Bollywood cinema’s finest albums ever. It is a 90s classic that continues to resonate in the hearts of many a music lover. Be it the title song or Ladki Badi Anjani, or that theme tune that has become part of the Dharma Productions logo clip; romance has seldom sounded so melodious.

In a movie that starred two Khans, Kajol manages to overshadow them with her career-best act in an author-backed role that does complete justice to her range as an actress. As the sporty Anjali who goes from looking like a tomboy, to becoming the perfect dulhania, Kajol scores a three-pointer in every sense of the word.

Celebrating the season of love!

The season of romance is here, the Monsoons!!! Needless to say, we love the rains as they symbolize the various important emotions in life. The expression of love, happiness, the craziness and the sorrow. It's the ambience that the rains create that compels you to fall in love with them. Whether it's the smell of the first rains or the vivid moods they get you into, everyone simply loves everything about rains. And then, expressing yourself doesn’t seem as difficult as it earlier felt.
Remember Rahul and Anjali dancing to the silent music of the rains in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai? Or Aisha and Sid realizing their love, dreams and passion in Wake Up Sid? Even the otherwise reclusive Vijay expressed his love for Kaali in the rains! Then there’s Rohit and Naina, strengthening the life long bond of their friendship in Kal Ho Naa Ho! Ask Simran from I Hate Luv Stories why a girl loves the rains, and she’d say, ‘’To fall in love!”
We agree!
The monsoon is a season that deserves not just celebration, but the feeling of it to sink in! The dark clouds, the rainy days, hot cups of coffee and Dharma movies will do the rest for you.

So don’t miss this chance to celebrate in the rains & get drenched. Happy Monsoon ;)

A day to celebrate the rock solid man in our lives!

A father, a word, a person, a thought, a belief, a support system for life & the reason for being alive! We may not speak much to our father, we may be scared to share things with him because of the disciplined role that he plays in our lives… But, he is our hero, our role model. We learn how to be strong, how to face the difficulties in our lives & how to come out of them victorious!

Father – a man who strives hard to give us a better life in terms of living, education, qualities that make us a better person… & in return, expects nothing but love & respect, not just for him but for everyone who helps us grow as an individual! He is our best teacher, a perfect guide, a true friend & a thoughtful philosopher.

The role of a father played by the superstars in any Dharma movie have left us with an impact forever! Be it Rahul from Kuch Kuch Hota Hai or Yash Raichand from Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, these characters have thought how a father can be your best friend & can also be stern so that we learn & grow better!

On this special day, be sure to give your father an extra big hug and tell him how much you love him :)
