Showing this Friday – Kal Ho Naa Ho

Blissful times are back. The week’s, finally, come to an end. Planning for the weekend is what occupies your mind most. A beach night may probably be top on your mind or just a long drive to kill the stress. In any case, you deserve a much relaxed evening and well, we may have an awesome plan for you.

While most of us like to spend Fridays grooving to blasting music, few of us like to spend it in the quiet of our houses in front of the TV watching our favorite stars perform to our heart’s content.

One such movie is Kal Ho Naa Ho. The ultimate entertainer perfect for a relaxed evening. It’s the cute sweet story of Aman (SRK), Naina (Preity Zinta) and Rohit (Saif Ali Khan). How they grow into their characters, discover love, and the zeal to live life, is the essence of the love-drama.

The movie is emotionally brilliant, packed with light and sweet moments that will leave you asking for more. And well, what’s a story without a moving love-triangle! The remake of the old classic favorite ‘Anand’ is every reason why you would want to spend your Friday watching Kal Ho Naa Ho with your loved one.

If you haven’t already watched it, grab a tub of popcorn, a wad of tissues and enjoy the movie snuggling closer to your partner.

#RomanticDialogues with Dharma

Dharma has been synonymous with the feeling of love for decades now. Movies like ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’ and ‘Kal Ho Naa Ho’ have become cult classics of the romantic genre. A large part of that success can be attributed to the mesmerizing dialogues that have been etched in the minds of the people.

It’s the characters that have made the dialogues memorable and when it comes to romance, how can one forget Rahul (Shah Rukh Khan). Rahul’s earnestness when he says “Kuch kuch hota hai Anjali, tum nahi samjhogi” Brought tears to the eyes of the young and the old. In ‘Kal Ho Na Ho’ Rohit’s (Saif Ali Khan) heartfelt way of describing love “Pyar ka pehla kadam dosti hai, aur aakhri bhi… bas beech ke kadam reh gaye hain” is also not far off.

While the superstars SRK, Saif, Rani and Preity have had their fair share of glory. The budding stars of B-Town are not far behind. While playing Meeta, Parineeti Chopra’s dialogue “Tum oxygen aur main hydrogen… hamari chemistry ekdum pani ki tarah hai” in ‘Hasee to Phasee’ brought a smile to the faces and changed the outlook towards the term chemistry forever.

From the outright passionate to the twisted funny, romantic dialogues of Dharma movies continue to make people fall in love. While the actors have beautifully enacted these dialogues on screen, the wonderful teams of writers have weaved their magic in the form of words time and again and deserve the highest of credit.

So, join in the fun as we bring the curtains down on the month of love and let us know your favourite romantic dialogues in the comment section below.

A twisted story of love & relationships

If you ever thought that you already have that perfect love story that you`ve always dreamed of, think again. Everything in this world is not what it seems to be. Love is not always hunky dory all the time, there are certain times in life when a marriage can have its flaws, but it’s up to you and your partner to sort everything out. Something on a similar basis can be seen in the film ‘Kabhi Alvida Naa Kehna’ which is a twisted story of love & relationships.

Dev (Shah Rukh Khan) lives in the United States of America and is a foot ball player. He is married to Rhea (Preity Zinta), who works and models for a fashion magazine. Dev fractures his leg, becomes handicapped and dependent on Rhea. He stays at home all the time and broods on his ill-luck. This causes a lot of heated arguments between the two and Rhea accuses Dev of being jealous of her success and what a bad example he is setting for their son. Rishi on the other hand is very frustrated as he is unable to express his love towards Maya and also resents the fact that Maya is infertile. Due to this Maya is unable to reciprocate his love because of the lack of feelings towards him, as she believes he is very selfish. This causes a drift in their relationship.

The film focuses on how the two couples have an imperfect relationship, and how they try to avoid the issues by having an extra-marital affair. They believe that taking this step will sort out all their problems. However, this distraction just turns out to be a temporary solution, which makes it even worse as it results in raising doubts in their partners’ minds. They say that no relationship is perfect.

A marriage always has its ups and downs, and true love doesn’t always come your way the way you imagined. It is something that becomes stronger when a couple has a give and take relationship, when they understand each other’s difficulties and work towards a common solution and when they have absolute faith in each other’s lives whether it is at home or outside at work.

Watch the film to find out what happens when Rhea and Rishi find out about their respective partners’ infidelity.

Celebrating the season of love!

The season of romance is here, the Monsoons!!! Needless to say, we love the rains as they symbolize the various important emotions in life. The expression of love, happiness, the craziness and the sorrow. It's the ambience that the rains create that compels you to fall in love with them. Whether it's the smell of the first rains or the vivid moods they get you into, everyone simply loves everything about rains. And then, expressing yourself doesn’t seem as difficult as it earlier felt.
Remember Rahul and Anjali dancing to the silent music of the rains in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai? Or Aisha and Sid realizing their love, dreams and passion in Wake Up Sid? Even the otherwise reclusive Vijay expressed his love for Kaali in the rains! Then there’s Rohit and Naina, strengthening the life long bond of their friendship in Kal Ho Naa Ho! Ask Simran from I Hate Luv Stories why a girl loves the rains, and she’d say, ‘’To fall in love!”
We agree!
The monsoon is a season that deserves not just celebration, but the feeling of it to sink in! The dark clouds, the rainy days, hot cups of coffee and Dharma movies will do the rest for you.

So don’t miss this chance to celebrate in the rains & get drenched. Happy Monsoon ;)

Repair Almost Anything

In an age when everything right from tissues to relationships are used, thrown and disposed, Rizwan Khan and Mandira come to reinstate the belief in everlasting relationships. Rizwan who suffers from the Asperger’s Syndrome and is termed autistic or abnormal, turned out to be more intelligent and considerate about people and relationships. Sticking by his mother’s childhood lessons, Rizwan never differentiates between people on the basis of false grounds such as caste, religion, etc. For him, the real demarcation of people was their deeds, so for him there were only good and bad people. Rizwan did all he could to repair his relationship, his love and his marriage because he believed that relationships were meant to last till death, they need not be dumped but repaired.

We absolutely love Rizwan Khan for reinstating this beautiful lesson! Do you agree?

Split between heart and mind?

As the title suggests, so was the story of Dev and Maya!

There are times when we think / pretend we are happy when we are not. However, we find it difficult to accept the truth and plan to live with it, not realising that it’s not only bothering us, but also the people around us. Though difficult, it is wise to accept things as they come and find a way to live with it rather than running away from it. Dev and Maya too were the victims of misconceptions & misunderstandings. They believed that their incapability made them weaker in front of their better halves Rhea & Rishi respectively.

It was fate, who bought Dev and Maya together, but it might have been faith that could have let Dev & Rhea and Maya & Rishi live happily ever after.
